First Haircut

Well Ady is now 2 1/2.  It is probably about time that she got a haircut.  She just didn't have hair for so long.  It has grown a lot longer, and she was sporting a little bit of a mullet.  So on Saturday November 24th after we went and chopped down our Christmas Tree we took ady into Alli's work, and she got her first haircut.

It was so cute.  She was excited about it.  She sat up in the chair, when alli started cutting ady thought that it tickled and she started to wiggle.

honestly Ady did so good.  Alli is so good at her job, and she did a great job!  I think that Ady's hair is so cute and she looks so grown up.

Thanksgiving 2012

For Thanksgiving this year, we went and spent the day in South Jordan.  We started the day by playing some basketball.  Then we ate some food!  All of the food was delicious!  After dinner we watched Brave, and played some ping pong and darts.  It was such a fun day!  We were so tired the next day, but the fun didn't stop.

On Friday we drove up to Logan and had a wonderful dinner with Brian's whole extended family.  All of his family was there.  Except for Scott and Allison who we missed a lot!
After the dinner with his family, we headed to my parents house.  We played some farkle.  It was so much fun, and we played until late in the night.

On Saturday we woke up and headed up to Idaho.  We went to cut down our Christmas Tree.  It was kind of an odd year.  We got up there, and there was no snow. We had the snow mobile in the truck ready to use it and then there was no snow.  We hiked up the mountain, which was already better than last year. Last year we ended up sitting at the bottom of the hill, and we had them pick out a tree for us.  So we walked up the mountain.  By the time we were half way up the hill the girls were complaining that their hands were hott.  So we had to revamp the outfit.  But after some more hiking around, we found our tree.  The girls had fun, and we made it back down the mountain.  So it was great!

It was a wonderful weekend full of family and fun.  I am so grateful for all of my blessings!

Thankful Turkey

Tonight for family home evening, we made thankful turkey's.  We traced the girls' hands and feet.  We cut them out and then asked them what they were thankful for.  It was a really fun activity.
Ady said that she was thankful for hands, feet, family, crown and stick.  She was just looking around the table while I asked her what she was thankful for, and apparently that is what she saw.
Annika said that she was thankful for family, pillow pet, clothes, bed, and her blanket.  She wrote all the the things on her feathers. we might have to work on writing a little bit smaller!

I am so thankful for my girls.  They bring me so much joy!  I am thankful for Brian, he is such a wonderful husband and dad.  I am grateful for all of the family we have.  There is so much that I am thankful for, and this doesn't need to go on forever.  But I love this time of year!  Happy Thanksgiving!

Hawaii Day 3

On Thursday April 12th we got tickets to the Polynesian Cultural Center.  It didn't open until noon, so we woke up had some breakfast and then went down by the pool and played some cards.  It was a very relaxing morning.  We left at about 11 and stopped at the Temple visitor Center.

We got to the Polynesian Cultural Center, and the first place that we stopped was at the Samoa Center.  It was so entertaining to watch.  He showed us how they peal a coconut, and then they climbed a coconut tree.  It was all amazing to watch.  I really enjoyed the show at Tonga as well.  They do a great job teaching you about their culture.  After a hot day of watching shows we got to enjoy a show at a luau.  It was fun watching them dig the pig up out of the ground. After the luau we had tickets to their show "breath of life".  We had front row seats.  It was an amazing show.  All of the students who put on the show do such an amazing job.  The whole day was so much fun, and it was a great experience learning about all of the different cultures.

We went to Hawaii

On Easter Sunday we met my parents at Jen's house.  When we left the girls went home with them, and Brian and I headed home to pack.  I warned Brian that I was going to be a mess when we said good-bye to the girls.  I did a lot better than I thought I would but it was hard knowing that I was not going to see them for the next 9 days.
On Monday April 9th we woke up, went and picked up BJ and Neisha and went out to Breakfast.  We got to the airport and they told us that our flight had been delayed an hour.  We were supposed to leave Salt Lake at noon, but now it would be one.  At about 2:30 we got on the plane.  we headed out to the run way and they turned the plane around and took us back to the gate.  They decided that the plane needed a new part, and the closest one was in Atlanta.  Needless to say after a long day of sitting in the airport we finally got on our plane at about 8:00 pm.  We missed out on the whole day in Hawaii.  When we finally got to Hawaii we got our rental car.  We went and checked in and told them that we just wanted a compact car.  we walked out to the lot and the guy said well the lot is really full.  do you guys want something funner to drive, you are in Hawaii you know.  So long story short we got to upgrade our car to a 4-door soft top black jeep.  That was nice.  by this time it was about midnight, which in Utah time is 4 am.  I was exhausted.  and we still had to drive an hour to get to the resort.  The drive up was crazy the speed limit on the freeways in Hawaii is 55 mph, and on the other roads it is 35mph.  way to slow when all you want to do is get some sleep.  BJ and Neisha were ahead of us, and we came down a hill and there was a cop and they got pulled over.  :(  Seriously it was a long not very fun day!  All I could do was hope that this wasn't going to set how the rest of our trip would go.  We got to the hotel and got some sleep.
On Tuesday April 10th we woke up and went down to a wonderful buffet breakfast.  After Breakfast we decided to go for a walk along the beach.  It was an overcast kind of rainy day.  We decided to go for a drive and see some of what we missed on the way up to the resort in the dark.  We decided to go to Pearl Harbor.  Pearl Harbor was an amazing experience.  I learned so much.  We paid for the audio tour, so we looked like really cool tourists listening to our headphones.  It was actually really fun and I would recommend it to anyone.  What an amazing place. After Pearl Harbor we were starving so we found an awesome sushi restaurant.  It was so much fun.  We don't have anything like that here in Utah.  On the way home we drove up the East side of the Island on the Like like highway, and we stopped at a macadamia nut farm.  We also found a food truck that Neisha had seen on the TV show, "The best thing I ever ate" so we had to stop and try some of their donuts.  :)  they were good. I don't know if it was because I was still trying to adjust to Hawaii time or because we had a late night the night before but I could barely keep my eyes open that night.  It was a long fun day!

Hawaii- Day 2

On Wednesday April 11th we woke up and ate breakfast, it was a beautiful sunny day, and we went to our surfing lessons.  Surfing was one of the things that I was looking forward to the most, I was sooo excited.  It was sooo much fun.  we had awesome instructors and it was such a cool experience.  Brian of course was a natural.  He stood up on his first wave.  At one point in time Brian and I were sitting out there with an instructor and a turtle poked it's head up out of the water for breath.  This was so exciting because one of the things that I wanted to see the most was a turtle.  It was amazing.  All of us got up eventually and it was such a fun experience.  At one point in time I totally crashed and I cut my toes up on the reef.  (I still have the scars on my toes to prove it.)  I got up and was trying to get back up on my board when a wave came and tumbled me back under.  then I was getting back up on my board again and here comes Brian and another guy and I am right in the way.  I made both of them crash.  That was the worst crash I had, and then I got right back up and still think that it was the funnest thing that we did on our trip. On our way back to the resort we saw a whole bunch of people looking at something on the beach, so we decided to stop.  It was a turtle.  I was so excited.  I wanted to see a turtle!  It was so fun to see!  After Surfing we were all pretty tired so we thought we would just hand out and relax. We went and hung out in the hot tub at the resort.  We also had the surf instructor recommend a restaurant, so that night we went to a restaurant right on the edge of a golf course.  It was a really pretty and tasty.  What a wonderful day!

Funny

Annika has been really into playing mario cart on the wii lately. She has really gotten very good at it. Most nights after dinner we go down and play some mario cart all together. After she started playing we found out the she thought that Luigi's name was wedgie. Well we didn't really correct her. :) Today I was talking to her and she told me that "dad likes a wedgie". I laughed and said what? I am still laughing..... dad likes a wedgie! so I videoed it and I still think it is funny.

here it is if you all would like to watch it! http://youtu.be/6M8YDab3aEw

On another note. Ady is talking so much and figuring out how to say things. Lately she will come up to me and say uh huh pop. meaning yes she wants some pop. or uh huh tub tub. I want to get in the tub. It is pretty cute. As I am typing this she is saying uh huh shoe. (she wants her shoes on.) I love her little cute voice and all of the new words she can say and how well she can communicate with us.

On another note.... Today is Brian and my 6 year anniversary! we were talking last night, and it is crazy! It seems like we have always been married, but then 6 years doesn't really seem that long. Then we started talking about all of the things that have happened in just 6 years. 2 beautiful girls. Graduating school, getting a job, buying a house, etc. etc. I am so lucky to get to be married to my best friend. I couldn't imagine my life without him in it! I love him so much! Happy Anniversary Brian! I love you!

SNOW!

we only had to wait until march but the snow finally came. I think I bought a sled in October thinking that we would be able to use it all winter, and today we used it for the first time at our house (we did use it when we cut down the tree in November.) the girls had so much fun. We got on all the snow gear, and headed out to the front yard. I kept trying to pull them and Ady would fall out or Annika would purposely tip them over. We finally got the hang of it and got in a good walk down the block and back. Ady kept dropping her bag of goldfish (which she would not leave inside or put down or let anyone else touch.) She would drop it, then it would tip over, and then she would get so mad that I kept walking and left goldfish in the snow. Oh well. We made it and I think they had fun!

On Friday February 24th we went snowboarding at Brighton. It was a lot of fun. I am glad that we get the opportunity to go. Grandma Karen kept all of the granddaughters, which I am sure was an adventure, and the rest of us headed up to the mountain. Gavin picked a pretty good way to spend his birthday!

After we got home from snowboarding we had our snowboards out on the grass drying and the girls used it for a sled down the pine needles. It was fun to watch them and I think that it was the funnest thing Annika has done in a while, she loved it so much.

Ady Talks

Last night we changed Ady's bed into a toddler bed. She was really excited that she could get in and out of her bed all by herself. There was a lot of jumping, and before she went to sleep she ended up biting her lip and bleeding. So, if the nights continue like that we will be changing it back into a crib.
A couple weeks ago she threw away her binky. Since that night she has started talking a lot more. All of her little words are so cute. they almost have a singing sound to them. but I love all of her little words. I can't wait for her to be able to express herself more so that I won't have to guess what she wants. She is getting so big. But here is a little video of her talking if you would like to watch.

Annika is 4!

On December 14th Annika turned 4. To Celebrate her big day we had a party! I made a princess cake, and we invited over some friends.

The day was pretty laid back. Annika had preschool so she went to school. Brian took the day off so that he wouldn't miss out on the festivities. Annika came home from school and we ate lunch. We asked her what she wanted and she picked Pizza Rolls.

We ate lunch and then she got to open some of her presents from Brian and me.
This is Annika taking time to model her new dress up shoes.

After that it was time to start getting everything ready for the party. One of Annika's friends got here before she was even in her princess dress. She didn't want me to do anything special with her hair, so she was pretty much just wearing a dress up dress.

When her friends got here we had put out a red carpet up the stair leading into the house, so they could all walk on the red carpet. Once they came in we started decorating crowns. Which they did for a lot longer than I thought that they would. Then we went down stairs and we played a game of pin the braid on Rapunzel.

After that we played a game of Princess Bingo. After princess Bingo they all got to go on a treasure hunt. After the treasure hunt we came in and opened presents, and then we had some cake and Ice Cream.

It was totally crazy with 11 4-year olds running around the house but I think that it went really well.

Annika had been talking about her princess Birthday party since June so I hope that it was everything that she wanted it to be.

After the party was over we changed her clothes, and we got ready to go out to dinner with Brian's family. We went out for Sushi because that is what Annika picked. After dinner we came home and opened the rest of her presents. We also Celebrated Aunt Heidi's birthday and let her open some presents.
