Crawling and Bye Bye

I have been meaning to post this for over a week, so finally here it is. Annika is crawling, and has gotten faster than you see in the video.

The other day, Annika woke up, in my opinion too early, to I took her out into the living room and laid down to get some more sleep. I thought I was pretty smart, I set myself up for sleep strategically trapping her into the living room. If she was going to get out of the living room she would have to crawl over me, I would for sure feel her, and then wake up. (pretty smart right?) Well the next thing I know, I was awakened by a noise, I looked around and she was gone. I jumped up, and Brian had got up and got in the shower, and Annika had crawled to the Bathroom and was hitting the bathroom door! She is definitely making her way around the apartment. One more story if you want to stop reading you can... but she likes to pull herself up to different things. I was sitting on the floor with her and she was pulling herself up to the bookshelf. I looked away and was talking to Brian, I looked back and she was off the ground climbing up the book shelf. (granted the bottom shelf is only 4 inches off the floor but still!) I have a feeling we are in for a treat now that she can move. What a crazy girl! Annika can also now wave bye. It is pretty cute to see. I just thought I would share these fun things with you!

Milestones

(Annika loves her popsicles, that is what she has all over!)

Well it is official, Annika can crawl. She has been crawling around for the last couple of days, and today she has just started taking off! It is a lot of fun to watch her move around and see the things that she stops to look at. She has also started pulling herself up to anything that she can. She regularly pulls herself up to the couches, and the other day she pulled herself up to the T.V. She just thinks that she can stand. The downfall.. is that she isn't quite ready to stand up so she falls down, and my poor baby has marks all over her head. I guess that is just a regular part of them, learning how to move. ( If you can see the mark right between her eyes, in the picture that is still a misquito bite!)The next milestone... Last night we moved her mattress down in her crib. She has gotten so she pulls herself up and is standing there when she wakes up and wants me to come and get her. I got worried about this because all she would have to do is lean over and she would fall out of her crib. So now she is sleeping a little lower. It is just hard to believe how fast she is growing. She just turned 7 months old and it is crazy that time can fly that fast. But at the same time it is crazy that she has only been in our lives for 7 months because it seems like she has always been here!
The next milestone... isn't really about Annika, but I officially quit my job last week so I am now officially a stay at home mom! I am so excited about it. I really liked my job, but I am excited for the chance to be home and see Annika learn new things.

Tinfoil Dinners

Well within the last week we have got to eat tinfoil dinners twice. Last Thursday, we went up Logan Canyon with the Brooks' and enjoyed some tinfoil dinners. It was so much fun except for the fact that I got 15 mosquito bites on my back alone. Poor Annika got quite a few too. She got a bite right between her eyes. Who knew it was even possible for her to get bit there. There also bit her on the back of her head. I felt so bad for her. I know how bad I itch my bites, and she could not even itch. Well They are healing now just fine!
This week my parents are at girls camp, my mom is the camp director and so my dad went with them. So while the parents are away.... The kids decided to cook tinfoil dinners in the fire pit. It was a lot of fun to go hang out with my brothers and sisters. Poor Jen is so board sitting in the house all day long just waiting for her leg to heal. I really feel bad for her, but I think our tinfoil dinners really brightened up her whole day. Anyways, both nights were a lot of fun, we really enjoy being outside on these nice summer nights!

Oh the Memories

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! (Brian and/or Alisha)
Keep in mind that our families (namely our MOTHERS) read this blog!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.
EVERYBODY PLAY! I want to see what memories you have!!

Fun at the Zoo

Our ward has a great Mother's Group and today we went to the Zoo. In this picture the zoo keeper is feeding a carrot to the porcupine. That was interesting to watch how they eat and move around. I have to say I thought they were pretty cute. I am pretty sure that Annika didn't even know that there were animals in the cages, she was just enjoying being around other kids. I tried multiple times to get her to look at animals I thought were close enough for her to see and she didn't care at all. But then we got to the ducks and she could definitely see them. There was a couple that had brought a whole bunch of bread, so all of the ducks were right there by us. She even grabbed a hold of the fence and stood up next to the fence and watched them. In the picture you can see my hand because I got so nervous that as soon as I left her she would fall, but she didn't even know I was gone. I think that she had a lot of fun watching them. In fact when we left the ducks she cried. I had a lot of fun, It is always good to get out and just talk to other mom's. I think that it was a really fun day at the zoo!

Happy 4th of July!

Wow! I always feel like I need a vacation from our weekends, but after this weekend, I am definitely going to need a couple of naps. It was so much fun. On Thursday night the 3rd... Logan City had their fireworks. My family had a BBQ before and then we all went up and enjoyed the fireworks. We sat in the stadium, and at the beginning they had just some smaller fireworks, Annika didn't seem to mind these, then they started doing the big fireworks, and she didn't like them. She just snuggled up to me, and fell asleep!
On Friday we drove down to South Jordan and spent the weekend at Brian's parents house. We went swimming which was so much fun! I didn't take a picture of it but if was a pretty cool pool. They had some Olympic diving boards, and we jumped off of them. I seriously think that they were 20 ft high. I got up there and didn't want to jump, but I did. Brian and Eric jumped off the higher jump. Wow they are brave. That night we celebrated Eric's Birthday, we played some great backyard volleyball. Then we set off a great firework display. On Saturday we went and played Tennis, which Brian's whole family is good at, but I however, am not to good. It was a lot of fun though. After tennis we went to an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet. It was really good. We set up a pool and Annika got to play, and then Heidi, Karen and I went shopping! That night we had a BBQ and then we played some games.Annika just keeps getting closer and closer to crawling. She tries to pull herself up to everything, she just thinks that she can stand! One of these days she is just going to start moving and I won't know what to do.

On Sunday we went to church, ate more food and came home! It was such a great weekend but I am tired. But what a great 4th of July!
