Weekend Getaway

Last weekend, we did something we have never done, We left Annika for 3 nights. We missed her a lot but we had a lot of fun. Annika got to stay with her Grandma and Grandpa LeBaron, who I am sure spoiled her. She had fun, and I don't know if she missed us one bit. Brian and I went to St. George with some friends. We left Thursday night and got home Sunday night. On Thursday we just drove down. We stayed in Britney's grandma's house, and it was great. On Friday morning we woke up and went boating. We went to Sand Hallow, and soaked up some sun. We went out on the boat and tried to wakeboard. Then we took a turn sitting on the beach. We decided to build some tunnels in the sand.

It was fun, I really enjoyed sitting and talking to Brian, and it was nice not to worry about entertaining a kid. (We really missed her!) but it was fun. The rest of the group came back and Echo, Me, Britney and Heidi all got on the water weenie. It was so much fun. I have never rode on one before, and I don't think that I have laughed so hard in a long time. It was so much fun.
That night after we were done at the lake, we headed down to Mesquite for an all you can eat seafood buffet! Mmmmmm... It was so good. You should have seen the pile of crab legs that we had.

On Saturday we went 4-wheeling. Again so much fun. It was great, it wasn't to hot, it started raining on us a couple of times. It felt so good. We headed home, and relaxed and played some games. On Sunday morning we woke up, cleaned the house and headed home. It was such a great vacation. We were glad to get home.

And not to leave Annika out I thought I would add some cute pictures.

We have some strawberry plants and she loves to pick them and eat them. She goes over to the bushes and searches in them for more berries.

She likes playing in the water so I let her help me water the garden. (things are actually growing it is great!) She is such a good little helper and she is growing up so fast!

Stolen

About a month ago, I wanted to add some music to my MP3 player. I went to the computer and my music was gone. No big deal I thought... I will just go get my CD case, and I will put it back on the computer. So I walked down stairs to where I thought my CD case was. Not there. Ok where did I put it. I know that I have had it since we moved into our house. I asked Brian if he had seen it. He suggested that I look in the cars. Nope not there. I think that I looked in every place that I could it wasn't behind things, it wasn't in any of the boxes that are so nicely organized in the basement. Where could it be. Anyways I have been searching for this CD case FOREVER. I gave up. I was convinced that someone had broke into our house and wanted to take nothing but my CD case. (because all of our CD's are sooooo good!) Actually I was going to blame it on Matt. I think that he saw it when he was helping us move things into the house, and he just stashed it away. And he has been secretly listening to my great music. Well tonight Brian decided that he wanted some of the music that was in there. So he starts looking in all of the places that I had already looked. (Funny how he cares about it when it is something that he wants, but when it was me wanting the music, he didn't even open a box to help me look!) oh well. So after he couldn't find it, he too was convinced that they were gone, someone had "jacked" them. In my nicely organized basement, there was one box that I didn't even knew existed. It was under all of our wedding gifts that we have yet to use. (don't worry I am planning on pulling them out of their boxes on our 25th wedding anniversary.) That is when my mom says you want and need new stuff anyways. So under all of that. Brian found a box of miscellaneous electronics. Inside that box, were my CD's. CRAZY. I guess they weren't stolen. But can you believe that I have boxes that have been sitting in this house for 6 months that haven't been opened yet? I guess that probably means we don't really need whatever is in that box. Oh well I guess we are officially unpacked now! It only took us 6 months!

Splash Pad

The other day we got together with some friends and went to the splash pad in Herriman. It was a lot of fun. At first Annika didn't even want me to put her down. Then she decided that it was okay and she was running around and playing. she didn't like any of the water that sprayed down on her, but the ones that came up out of the ground she decided she liked to stand on. At one point in time she was trying to drink out of it like it was a drinking fountain. It was a great way to get out of the house, and have some fun!

Sunny Day

(This is Annika's kissing face! She gives some great kisses!)

Today was such a nice day! We spent the day outside working on the yard. The garden is now most of the way in, we actually planted it on Tuesday night. We ripped out two trees in our yard one in the back and one in the front. They were both dead. They didn't have any leaves growing and we decided we should just pull them up. So... today we worked on the yard. We went to home depot and bought some trees and flowers. That store was so busy today! Our fence has been broken since we moved in and Brian fixed that today. It feels so nice, to get some of our to do list accomplished.

Our ward also had a fund-raising garage sale today, so we decided to go. I think that I am addicted to finding good deals. I get so excited when I find great things at very low prices! Today at the garage sale we found Annika a little kitchen set. It is so cute. She has been playing with it all day long! What a little girl she is.

We have some great neighbors that live across the street. They have a little girl named faith who loves Annika. She always comes over and asks if Annika can play. And whenever Annika sees faith out side she runs straight over to her. It is really cute to watch. But Faith had a little tikes car, that she has outgrown and she gave it to Annika. Annika loves it. She goes out in the garage and says car-car. She opens the door and gets in, and starts moving. Tonight Brian was pushing her back into the garage and she said beep beep. It is pretty cute! I love that her and Brian now have matching cars! :) ha ha! ( I really think that they are the same color!)

So we had a wonderful day, working on and accomplishing projects and just spending time together as a family!

Hogal Zoo

Yesterday a group of us got together and took our kids to Hogal Zoo! It was so much fun! There was Heidi, Karen, Neisha, McKell, Kennidee, Britney, Ava, Talia, and Turner. We wanted to get an early start on the zoo so we were there when it opened at 9:00. We went in and played at the playground for a while. Then we headed out to see some animals.
We saw some elephants

And of course we had to take a picture by the famout gorilla. (I told Annika to put her arms out and she folded them, so this was the best I got!)

We got to ride on the Merry-go-round! It was alot of fun! Annika rode on the zebra and she loved it, she cried when I took her off.

When we were up looking at the lions and tigers they had this bronze one. I had Annika sit on it, but it made me laugh because on time when I was younger my family went to the zoo, and they have a big rhino like this one, and my sister Jen sat on it and it was hott and she tried to jump off! It was funny (you probably had to be there) but putting Annika on this brought back some great memories of when I went to the zoo as a kid. By the way she loved sitting on this.

Annika looking at the giraffes.

I got a picture of McKell drinking out of the lion drinking fountain, but annika never drank out of it, but we always got this shot, when I was little. thought I would keep the tradition alive.

We rode the train at the end, but by that point, Annika was in breakdown mode. She threw a fit and hit her head on the cement while we were waitin for the train so we don't have any pictures. I thought that all of the kids did really good. It was a fun and tiring day!

I need to be better at blogging! We are still here, and I just thought I would catch up on what we have been doing. Jen graduated the beginning of may, we went up to her graduation, but I don't have any pictures of the event. I was taking them all with her camera. Then Heidi graduated. We went to her graduation. Since she was graduating in dental hygiene she bought some nasty looking teeth, and her and her friends took pictures wearing them. (pretty funny!) Well Heidi gave Annika a pair, and Brian got pictures of her playing with them.

Annika is getting so old! She is starting to do so many things. The other day I was out weeding the flower bed, and something happened that has never happened before. Annika went and played by herself! She can climb up the ladder and go down the slide all by herself. I taught her how to swing on her belly so she is set! Here are just a couple things she likes to do.
She likes to help me cook!

She likes to help me clean the sink! (Not really but it was pretty cute!

She likes to hold as many binkies as she can!

She likes to cross her legs when she sleeps

Just a picture in case everyone wanted to see how pink her room really is!

We went to a REal game on Saturday night. Annika wasn't feeling very well but she was a great sport and had lots of fun! AT one point she was even yelling like everyone else in the crowd! It was pretty funny!

We went Swimming today! Her cousins (Abe and Henry) gave her a pool for Christmas and we finally got to use it today and she loved it! So much fun!
